Item Description
Legrandite is one of the most highly sought after and beloved mineral species in the world, and even though the finest specimens are associated with the Ojuela Mine in Mexico, the type locality is actually the Flor de Pena Mine in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. This piece is a wonderful miniature specimen featuring rich yelllow-gold crystals "sprays" of Legrandite on oxidized matrix. The largest group measures about 4.5 mm across. The close up / micro photos of the piece really illustrate the overall quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5545). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
