Item Description

Many people think that the Ojuela Mine is the type locality for Legrandite, when in fact it's the Flor de Pena Mine, which is 100 miles to the east of Mapimi. Regardless, it's still a rare species, found in less than two dozen localities in the world. This piece is a good representative Legrandite featuring strong yellow color monoclinic prisms on gossan matrix. If you're a species collector, or if you enjoy collecting minerals from the type locality, this is a great chance to pick up a mineral from an historic locale.
