Item Description

Legrandite, a very rare zinc arsenate, is one of those uncommon, old species that, for many people, is one of the Holy Grails of rare species. Few large matrix specimens exist to be had, and of them, nearly all are in museums or private collections that are not selling anytime soon. This is a very good fan comprised of fine, needle-like crystals of Legrandite that average about 2 cm in length. The luster is good, and the color is is a greenish-yellow with just a hint of red. Admittedly not the best 'Legrandite yellow', this fan on matrix is nonetheless a good, hard to find specimen. On gossan matrix, it is likely from the classic old finds of the late 70s, early 80s. Originally priced at $1100 in the 1990s, and worth $1500-2000. What it lacks in robust color, it makes up for in robust SIZE. You just do not see such large legrandites around.
