Leaf Copper (classic locale)

Item Description

An amazingly sculptural large arborescent fan of leaf copper from the famous Central Mine. The striking "limbs" have an overall spinel-twinned pattern and are mostly formed with stacked, flattened, subhedral tetrahexahedrons. Scattered sharp tetrahexahedrons and spinel-twins add glamour to this very artistic two-sided piece. The piece has been cleaned to bring out the bright patina. The mine closed in 1898, but the dumps still produce fine specimens periodically. Classic and showy large Copper Country copper.
