Lead (uncommon locality)

Item Description

When it comes to Native Lead specimens from Sweden, most experienced collectors will think of the classic pieces from the Långban Mine, but a few hours drive northeast lies the Garpenberg Norra Mine, which has also produced some attractive specimens of this uncommon native element. This piece is a fine quality showy small cabinet display specimen featuring a large flattened "sheet" of Native Lead sitting atop matrix. Minor Mica is present, along with what appears to be nearly black colored Epidote. The piece sits beautifully on its own without a base or clay. A very good example of this seldom seen material.
