Item Description
An outstanding, sculptural and rich cluster of lustrous, blocky, rich azure-blue lazurite crystals from the famous Type Locality. The impresssive large crystal is 4.0 cm and the furrowed crystal faces really add pizzazz to this fine matrix example. The overall cluster is 5.5 cm long and is aesthetically set on the quartz, feldspar and pyrite matrix. Lazurite is a variety of hauyne, a member of the Sodalite Group. The base has been sawed to enhance the striking and excellent display quality. This is easily the very FINEST Sar-e-Sang lazurite we have offered at auction. For the size, it has an impact, a color, and a richness that you seldom see. Valued at $2000-2500.
