Item Description

A SUPERB and AESTHETIC lazurite specimen from the Steve Smale Collection and the Type Locality - Sar-e-Sang, Afghanistan. A 2.2 cm, sharp, dark, doubly-terminated, well-exposed, royal-blue lazurite crystal is winningly perched atop contrasting white marble matrix. The crystal exhibits textbook, 4-sided, orthorhombic crystal form and is both complete all-around and PRISTINE. RARE in this quality. This is a competition-quality lazurite from a noted collection - Steve is especially picket about display quality and condition, both of which are as good as you can wish here. It can be either a LARGE THUMBNAIL or a small MINIATURE, depending on how you sit the piece. Valued at $1000.
