Item Description

Here we have a classic example of the blue, twinned di-pyramdial crystals of Lazulite from the famous locality at Graves Mountain. The crystals on this specimen are twinned on the a {100} plane, and this particular habit is commonly associated with Graves Mountain. This piece is nearly doubly-terminated, but the lower half does have a slight contact. Nonetheless, these are highly sought after and rarely seen these days, so if you collect phosphates, thumbnails or minerals of the United States, don't miss out on this little beauty. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6579). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
