Item Description
Laurelite is an ultra-rare lead double halide and the famous Grandd Reef Mine is the Type Locality. This is a VERY RARE and showy combination miniature. Micro but eye-visible tufts and single needles of snow-white laurelite are richly scattered on the quartz points lining the showy vug. Veins of rare, splendent, metallic-gray galena surround the quartz crystals. Extremely rare and rich combination material from this locale. It was sold in the 1990s for $300. I am told that it probably comes from the single major pocket of this material which was found, and which also provided the type material (it has the right look, but who can say for sure?). Valued $500
