Item Description

These two micro specimens were collected by Richard Kosnar in 1964 when he had just graduated from high school. He had almost exclusive access to the quarry at the time, and was able to collect some very unique and interesting specimens (including some of the most well known Greenockites from the Western Hemisphere) over several years time. These pieces are mounted in a small plasitc box, and under magnification, one can see a beautiful chalk white "spray" of Laumonite crystals, and a slightly larger piece which is associated with pinkish-orange Chabazite. This specimen is nearly 50 years old, and even though it's a micro specimen, it's a cool piece of history and NJ mineral collecting.
