Item Description
An unusual and certainly rare pseudomorph from Copper Falls, Michigan featuring a rather large trapezohedral crystal of Analcime that has been replaced by soft beige colored Laumontite. There are reddish-brown patches on the surface of the piece, presumably some kind of oxidation. Please note that the piece was mistakenly labeled as "ANALCITE pseudmorph after LAUMONTITE", but it clearly has the iconic trapezohedral habit of Analcime. The piece is essentially a complete "floater", and it's one of the largest crystals of Analcime that I've seen from any locality in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This is the ONLY piece of its kind that I've seen, and if you collect pseudomorphs or minerals from Michigan, don't miss out, as you're likely to not see another like it again.
