Item Description

Laubmannite was originally described as a rare phosphate species from the nearby Coon Creek Mine. The type material was discredited in 1990, when it was determined to be a mixture of the phosphates dufrenite, kidwellite and beraunite. That being said, this remains a significant and very showy thumbnail of this extremely rare combination phosphate from a very obscure Arkansas locality. The smooth botryoid is composed of lustrous, radiating, greenish-brown, acicular crystals. This piece bears a strong resemblence to botyroidal dufrenite and kidwellite specimens from this area.
