Item Description

Zircon crystals of this large, fine quality are very rare from this less well-known, but famous district. This impressive sharply terminated crystal has textbook form and is partially doubly terminated. The glassy, highly lustrous crystal is reddish-brown, but bright light reveals large translucent to gemmy areas of beautiful and colorful cherry-red to golden-brown color. Contacting at the base and on some of the sides is noted, but there really very little damage, per se, on this rare and exceptional large zircon. Zircons of this outstanding quality were recovered during the primary mining era of the 1930s to 1970s. SELDOM on the market in this size and quality. Modest yellow SW fluorescent.
