A stunning compound cluster of LARGE, paper thin wulfenite crystals is dramatically set upright on the hummocky matrix of sparkly dolomite rhombs from Tsumeb. The imposing huge crystal is 7.8 x 7.5 x 1.7 cm! It is very glassy, translucent yellow-brown. The striking glassy faces, nubby faces and embedded dendritic copper on both sides of the crystals add real pizzazz to this fine large combination rarity. One corner of the wulfenite is broken, but this remains an exceptionally large, most excellent and uncommon combination of the species from the famed locale. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
