Large Wavellite (New Find)

Item Description

Mint-green, lustrous and translucent wavellite botryoids line a large, deep vug in sculptural, brecciated shale matrix on this very impressive LARGE CABINET specimen from a NEW 2010 find at Avant, Arkansas. The botryoids have a variable green color saturation. The periphery wear on the edges of the vug shows the banded nature of the wavellite botryoids. The architecture and size of this piece is indeed striking. A very fine larger specimen from this find. Frankly, I cannot recall seeing any such large wavellite out there on the market.
