Item Description

A very large and very rare vivianite crystal from this obscure and unique for vivianite locale in Cameroon. The lustrous, sharply terminated crystal has a striking knife blade or feather shape. The highy lustrous flat face has the typical for the species, greenish-purplish-black coloration. This locale is unique for large vivianite crystals, in that they form in Late Tertiary to Quaternary lacustrine sand and clay (argillite) deposits. Rare on the market in this size and quality.
