An impressive and rare cluster of large vesuviaite crystals from this obscure California locale from the Bob Trimingham Collection. The euhedral, yellow-green crystals are lustrous, moderately translucent and have an interesting dentritic overgrowth of smaller vesuvianites. The striking, dominating large crystal is 8.8 x 7.7 x 6.8 cm! Complete all-around. The contact on the left-front and on the back are noted, but are certainly only minimal detractions to this important and rare large California vesuvianite. Bob lists the locality as NE of Clio, above the RR tracks. A MUST for the species or California collector. Valued $1200-1500. This material, and in quality, is simply NOT on the market. ever.
