Item Description

An impressive large variscite nodule from this well-known Utah occurrence. One corner has been polished to show the pretty pastel-green hues and plumose patterns. This is excellent lapidary quality variscite with the specimens from Lucin being amongst the better pieces from the United States. The species is named for the German district of Variscia, which was the medieval name for modern-day Vogtland. Ex Allen Heyl Collection. 666 grams or 1.5 pounds.
