A spectacular and important, LARGE CABINET, vanadinite on barite plate from Mibladen. Gemmy and lustrous, fire engine-red, vanadinite prisms are festooned on this exceptional and striking combination specimen from finds 8-10 years ago at Mibladen. The tabular, sharply hexagonal, vannies reach 7 mm and have gorgeous flashes of gemmy, yellow-orange fire. The matrix "wings" of frosted barite blades are further enhanced by the rich coating of black, manganese oxides. The CONTRAST TO THE BLACK MAKES THE VANADINITES MORE RED - and is considered a very desirable combination when seen in person to hammer home this point. Nearly all of the multitude of vanadinites are pristine, excepting a super-trivial bit of periphery wear. This is the finest large vanadinite-barite combination piece we have offered at auction. The crystals are wonderfully discrete on this striking piece. The sharp red on black contrast is rarely seen compared to more common white barite or massive barite matrix and MAKES the piece.Valued $2000
