Item Description

Scintillating, tiny gemmy, emerald-green uvarovite crystals are festooned on the front of the sawed massive chromite matrix on this very rich and colorful large combintion plate from the Type Locality. There are actually two generations of crystals on the piece, the earlier smaller light emerald-green crystals and the larger darker ones, which reach 1-2 mm. This was purchased from an old collection and specimens of this size and richness are seldom on the market today. Ex J. Murray Collection of Whichita Falls, Texas. The crystals have a much richer emerald-green color, than the photos show, as the intense sparkle lightened them up. A large specimen of this quality, from old finds. Valued $750-950
