Matrix topaz specimens are RARE and desirable from the famous Thomas Range, as the volcanic rhyolite matrix is so hard. A beautifully set, 3.0 cm tall, opposing pair of gemmy terminated crystals highlights this adorable specimen. The very glassy crystals have classic cognac color, gorgeous limpid gem sections and areas included with typical rhyolite "sand". The dramatically placed 2.0 mm splendent metallic bixbyite cube is a super and classic accessory to this very fine matrix specimen from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. The piece displays beautifully without aid. Little new material has come from here recently. Valued at $1250-1500.
