Item Description

An impressive large topaz crystal from China at 781 grams or 1.7 pounds! The water-clear, gem, champagne-colored crystal has a broad, textbook chisel termination. The prism faces are glass-clear and the termination faces are lightly frosted with stepped-growth. Feldspar is on the base and back. Complete all-around, with only a couple of small dings on the left prism face. A classic form and in superb condition, especially considering the size. These came out briefly in a few spurts in the late 1990s, and then I saw only a very few others in later years. This piece was purchased in the late 1990s at Tucson by Robert Nowakowski. This massive crystal is at a lower price than comparable from Brazil or Pakistan. Valued at $2000.
