Item Description
Dramatic and classic large and sharp fishtail-twinned titanite crystal from Capelinha. The impressive doubly terminated crystal has classic and typical yellowish-green color, resinous luster and is transparent to translucent. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. Some faces are contacted with no damage (typical for large crystals) and a trivial bit of edge wear is noted. See the excellent 2022 Mineralogical Record article on the locale in Vol. 53, No. 3. Capelinha is certainly one of the world's great titanite localities and this is an outstanding large twinned example.
