Item Description
An impressive and sculptural large Tiger's Eye specimen form the best known locality for the material - South Africa. Tiger's Eye is the common name for a variety of quartz which is chatoyant because of subparallel intergrowth of quartz crystals and altered amphibole fibres that mostly turned into limonite (MINDAT). It is very popular as an ornamental and lapidary rock. All of the unpolished faces exhibit the mesmerizing chatoyancy, for which the material is famous. 892 grams or almost 2 pounds mass. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection. High grade large lapidary material.
