Tantalite-(Mn) specimens of this impressive size and sharpness are RARE from Equador and are very uncommon from any Brazilian locality. This very well-formed euhedral orthorhombic crystal has a classic modified termination, tapered form and very bright metallic luster. The front is nearly pristine, with just a bit of contacting along the edges. Part of the termination on the back is dinged. A rare and outstanding example of this tantalum-rich oxide. Hefty at 632 grams mass. Valued at $2000 for size, sharpness and rarity and worth it.
