Exotic and striking large quartz from an obscure farm in Minas Gerais. This surreal sculptural quartz is an extremely flattened, tabular, doubly terminated, floater quartz crystal. The very glassy, highly lustrous crystal is transparent to translucent. The frontal face is very smooth with subtle stepped-growth. The back face is much more 3-dimensional with exaggerated stepped-growth. One edge is a sharp prism face with the other being strongly tapered to a razor edge. The terminations are also tapered. Complete all-around and pristine. A RARE, fascinating and highly unusual Brazilian tabular quartz from the Matioli Collection. A must for the quartz or locality collector.
