Item Description
Two generations of sulfur crystals richly cover three sides of this impressive, large and colorful specimen from an obscure Nevada locality. The first generation of smaller, translucent, bright sulfur-yellow crystals is overlain by a scattering of gemmy, sharp, honey-yellow crystals to 3.0 cm. The blocky, chalky matrix is a super contrast to the sulfur crystals! Rare, large and excellent material from this locale. We compared the 33 sulfur photos shown in the MINDAT Nevada gallery and the Alum Mine appears to be the best fit for the two crystal types and matrix. 1914 grams or 4.2 pounds mass. Value??
