Item Description

Excellent stilbite specimens have been recovered intermittently from the 1970s to 90s from the Lewis River area of Washington. This very fine, richly intergrown and sculptural large piece is dramatically covered with two generations of porcelaneous larger creamy pastel-pink terminated parallel-growth crystals and smaller bone-white blades. The imposing large crystal is 4.6 cm long. This fine piece is undoubtedly from the 1970s and 80s finds. From the worldwide mineral collection of Albert Lewis Kidwell (January 1, 1919 - August 16, 2008). Al was a well-known mineral collector and research geologist with Carter Oil Company and later Exxon Oil Company in Houston, Texas. The phosphate species Kidwellite was named in his honor in 1974. A classic, uncommon, rich and showy large Washington Zeolite Group specimen.Big size, too!
