Item Description
An impressive, beautifully aesthetic large crystallized copper "fan" from the famous White Pine Mine. The flattened, curved piece has fantastic arborescent branches of spinel-twinned crystals with tetrahexahedral copper crystal "leaves". Copper comes in many forms and shapes and this is certainly one of the more spectacular LARGE CABINET specimens, that I have seen. The crystallized copper has a very nice patina. Molten copper was deposited along bedding planes of the Nonesuch Shale and that is why specimens from this mine are typically flat. Few large ones, though, have this kind of aesthetics! This outstanding piece has multiple display views. Valued at $2000.
