Item Description

Sharp, metallic, highly lustrous, twinned sphalerite crystals with a scattering of golden iridescent chalcopyrite sphenoids comprise this dramatic and impresssive large combination plate. A nifty attribute of many of these sphalerites, is that they flash with areas of golden-orange to straw-yellow translucence under bright light. These caused a major stir at the Tucson Show, when they came out around 2001. Commodore Mine sphalerites are a Colorado classic. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! Valued at $1500 by the former dealer, it is worth more today, say $2000.
