Dramatic clay phantoms highlight this striking parallel-growth pair of large smoky quartz crystals from the famous pegmatites of the Diamantina area. The rich clay inclusions on two sides of the large crystal and three sides of the smaller crystals turn into fabulous phantoms at the terminations. The distinctively different sharp crystal terminations are water-clear gem with the rest of the crystals being translucent. The termination faces are very glassy with the prism faces having variable satin luster.
