Swiss smoky quartz specimens are an Alpine classic and this is a striking and impressive large crystal. The sharply terminated crystal has rich smoky color and is water-clear. This crystal has fantastic 360-degree visual appeal with the stepped termination. Four of the steep termination faces are embedded with chlorite microcrystals, with two being gem-clear. Three of the highly lustrous prism faces are gem-clear, with the other three having a light chlorite coating. Fascinating chemistry here! Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The gently bruised termination and one spot of side wear have very minimal impact to the overall high quality of this dramatic smoky. 1330 grams or 2.9 pounds mass. Valued at $1500-2000 and worth it.
