Huge and impressive smoky quartz with the rare Tessin-habit crystallization from the famous Bedretto Valley. This is important for the size, quality, and how it illustrates this rare "tapered" style of quartz formation. The stunning sharply terminated gem has dramatic stepped-growth prism faces, that really add visual appeal to the crystal. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. A few very minor contacts, with some embedded matrix are mostly out-of-sight on the back. The lustre and form are amazing and the piece is from the namesake locality for the habit of quartz.
