Shimmering, waxy luster, translucent bubbly smithsonite botryoids are festooned on this sculptural and excellent large combination plate from famed Touissit. The freestanding 1.7 cm pair of golden-yellow to orange botryoids at the top nicely accented with with a cyclically-twinned cerussite crystal and the raised golden-yellow botryoids near the center are highlights along with more scattered cerussites. Most of the botryoids are a honey-brown and the patches of black, botryoidal goethite or manganese oxides are a fine contrast and complement. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. A large, rich and showy large cabinet sized smithsonite combination from the locale. If you found one of these old treasures for sale at a show, it would certainly be over $1000.
