Item Description
An unusual, decorative, sparkling smithsonite: Rich gray color on the large, fabulous, juicy, waxy lustre bubbly smithsonite (botryoidal habit, in technical jargon) from the less well-known Buena Tierra Mine at famed Santa Eulalia. The large compound botryoides reach 7.0 cm. Ex Gary Weaver Collection. Gary's label says the Potosi Mine at Santa Eulalia. We showed photos of the piece to well-known Mexico and Santa Eulalia expert and author, Dr. Peter Megaw, who confirmed the locality as the Buena Tierra Mine. This is an impressive, excellent, large, sculptural and RARE color smithsonite from the locale. Valued $1000-1200
