Dramatic, rich, colorful and sculptural large two-sided smithsonite rib from the famous Kelly Mine. Beautiful turquoise-blue, translucent, nubby bubbly botryoids with waxy luster in interesting, undulating form cover both sides of this classic, impressive and highly desirable specimen. The Kelly has produced some of the finest smithsonites in the world and this is an outstanding large two-sided example. Specimens of this size, richness and quality are very uncommon. It would look good in print next to other old specimens! See the 1989 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 20, No. 1. This is a rather large specimen: mass is 1248 grams or 2.7 pounds.
