Item Description
An impressive and colorful large 12.0 cm wide silver- and nickel-rich vein with attached country rock from the Silverfields Mine of the famous Cobalt area of Ontario. The sculptural vein in the unpolished slab hosts much arborescent, globular Silver, striking patches of iridescent metallic Nickeline contrasting pink Dolomite. The mine produced from 1963 until 1983. Specimens from this mine are uncommon. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. Rich and hefty silver and nickel ore at 1975 grams or 4.35 pounds mass.
