Item Description
A superb large combination classic from the famed Poudrette Quarry at Mt. St-Hilaire. Four, sharp, lustrous, mottled yellowish-brown intergrown siderite rhombohedrons are beautifully and artistically set atop the mounded matrix on contrasting small albite crystals. The huge impressive rhomb is 8.6 cm on the diagonal and measures a healthy stout 6.0 x 5.0 x 4.0 cm on the edges. The frosted rhombs have translucent edges. The striking large cluster is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a bit of mostly out-of-sight bruising on the back of the crystals. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection No. 09132 and acquired from DeTrin Minerals (Daniel Trinchillo) in 1998. This is an exceptional large siderite and albite combination with a large siderite crystal for the renowned locale.
