Item Description

Mineral specimens are uncommon and large solid siderite specimens are rare the Salchendorf district of the ancient Siegerland Fe-Pb-Cu area where mining started about 2500 years ago! (MINDAT). The last mine closed in 1965. This is an impressive large two-sided rib totally composed of sculptural parallel-growth jackstraw clusters of siderite blades. Interestingly, the blades are much larger on one side compared to the other. From an East Coast collection. Showy, excellent and rare large material of the species and locale.
