Item Description

An impressive 11.0 cm dense hemisphere of glassy Scolecite needles is richly covered with glassy mint-green Prehnite crystals on this Sensational and RARE large combination from the famous extinct Malad Quarry near Mumbai. It is not like anything we have ever seen from here. The striking adjacent Prehnite crystal "fingers" are revealed on the bottom to be Prehnite coatings or casts (epimorphs) of smaller sprays of Scolecite. An additional Bonus on the bottom are the classic, gemmy, yellow sections of large Calcite rhombohedrons. Old-time material from the 1970s and 1980s, as population growth closed the quarry. Exceptional and RARE large old Malad Quarry combination material from the Taylor Hunt Collection. We have not seen another combination like this from the Malad Quarry.
