large Schorl w/ Muscovite (Bob Reynolds Coll.) - unusual locality

An impressive large tapered trigonal schorl crystal from the Fano Mine. The highly lustrous, well-striated parallel-growth prism is nicely accented with embedded tiny muscovite plates below the matte-lustre pyramidal termination. This more obscure pegmatite mine in Riverside County, not famous San Diego County, is well-known for fine schorl specimens, such as this. It is probably from the 1980s finds. Complete all-around and in great shape overall for such a large crystal. The two clean repairs are certanly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. With his access and fondness for decades of selfcollecting in this area, we assume he selfcollected it.
