Item Description

Large old rhodonites from Franklin are still worldwide mineral classics but pieces in this size, are almost never seen for sale. Classic, blocky, lustrous, rose-pink rhodonite crystals and crystal sections are densely intergrown on this impressive, large, sculptural, 3-dimensional, mounded, nearly solid rhodonite specimen from the famous Franklin Mine. The prominent pair of parallel-growth crystals at one end are 5.3 cm long with other crystal sections reaching 5.7 cm on the other end at the bottom. The back and base host clusters of black franklinite crystals and crystal sections, typical and classic accessories. An extremely rich and showy large example of this signature Franklin Mine species with minor franklinite.
