Item Description

Very rich and an uncommon large rhodochrosite combination specimen from the well-known Animon Mine at Huaron, Peru. Pretty lustrous aggregates of pastel-pink rhodochrosite rhombs, clusters of translucent, gray calcite rhombs and scattered small quartz points cover the sculptural large undulating matrix plate. The RARE accessories are the scattered coated tetrahedral Tetrahedrite crystal clusters, to 1.5 cm. This rich, rare and showy large combination looks great from either direction. Specimens of this fine quality came out in the mid-1980s. See the 1997 Mineralogical Record Mines and Minerals of Peru issue, Vol. 28, No. 4. Choice material from the Gary Weaver Collection.
