RARE and rich large rhodochrosite from a most obscure locale in Hidalgo State, Mexico. Rose-pink, translucent, unusually shaped botryoids and crusts are dramatically festooned on the hefty, blocky layered matrix. We have not seen another colorful rhodo like this from this unusual locale. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. 1671 grams or 3.7 pounds mass. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
