Item Description
A VERY RARE, large old zincite cleavage from Franklin. The lustrous, laminated cleavage has a rich dried blood-red color. This was either part of a huge crystal or a rich thick vein of zincite. We showed this to a Franklin collector and he had never seen one like it. It is large, and actually beautiful! Undoubtedly old-time material. Formerly in the collection of Dr. Ed David, with his number on the piece. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and assembled several world-class collections. A remarkable large zincite cleavage from the Franklin Mine and a must for the species or locality collector. Valued $1500
