Mineral specimens of any type are VERY RARE from this old extinct Idaho precious metal-polymetallic mining district discovered in the 1860s and in major decline by the 1920s. Quartz specimens are EXTREMELY RARE, as the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the District has no examples. What we have here is an impressive large undulating quartz plate covered with a myriad of lustrous, translucent milky quartz points, to about 2.8 cm. Undoubtedly old-time material, but no proof. Ex Gary Weaver Collection and purchased in a gift shop in Silver City, Idaho. Mass is 6.0 pounds or 2.7 kilos. Unique, rich and showy large old quartz from the locale! Valued at $1000.
