Item Description

Water-clear quartz points of variable sizes form a dramatic and aesthetic, large jackstraw plate from this obscure Bolivian tungsten and tin mine, better known for Japan-law twinning in quartz (MINDAT). The very glassy, limpid sharply terminated crystals reach 8.2 cm. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. An outstanding 360-degree specimen from this locale. Quartz crystal specimens, in general, are very uncommon from any of the 22 localities listed by MINDAT for Cochabamba Department. It reminds me of classic quartz from Val d'Isere, France. Value??
