Here is something you do not often see up for auction: a huge, RARE, impressive large twisted quartz gwindel from Switzerland. This actually comes from the famous NEAT tunnel access gallery, excavations from the major tunnel through the Swiss Alps that opened in 2016. The striking gem, water-clear, glassy crystal has classic doubly terminated open gwindel form. The light green chlorite coating is a fine complement and contrast. This important and imposing large gwindel is 360-degrees and pristine. It is from one of the many galleries carved to supply and manage construction in the Swiss NEAT (Nationale Eisenbahn-Alpen-Transversale) railroad project providing access to the main gallery under construction (MINDAT). Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base, valued at $245, for free. We obtained a large group of Swiss minerals favorably and decided to put a few to auction here for you - Ex Brent Lockhart Swiss Collection and acquired from Siber + Siber in 2012.
