Large Quartz gwindel in cluster of Quartz (Linck Coll.)

Dramatic, large intergrown quartz gwindels of this impressive size are very uncommon from this famous Swiss Alpine area. A stunning, pristine, 11.4 cm, doubly terminated, colorless, gem, twisted gwindel and a 8.5 cm, sharply terminated, gem crystal are aesthetically set against the side of a much larger, 17.0 cm gwindel. The multiple terminations at one end of the doubly terminated gwindel are a joy to behold! The large gwindel has an impressive large gem termination with a dinged tip. The middle section is contacted, with very minimal actual damage and the other end is broken. The striking large quartz point has one lightly bruised prism face, that is out-of-sight in most display views. Ex Robert Linck Collection, a prominent East Coast collector who passed away in 1970. This remains a significant and important large Grischun quartz gwindel specimen. Valued at $3000-4000.
