Large Pyrite xl (rare size and habit)

Wow! A dramatic and rare large pyrite crystal from the Merelani Hills, renowned for the world's finest tanzanites and outstanding diopside and grossular garnet specimens. The very sharp, complex crystal has mirror-bright brassy luster. Complete all-around and actually in fine condition considering its size and the rough nature of mining here. It shows some minor contacting with some bruising visible on a few edges or faces, but in context this is small and is only a minimal detraction to this exceptionaly large and rare pyrite from this locale. Contacting on the back and the other end are mostly out-of-sight. Hefty mass is 654 grams, or 1.4 pounds! Tanzania is NOW added to the list of the world's great pyrite producers!
